I have always wondered what perfectly defines a 'hopeless romantic' person. I mean, I read it on books, I saw it on movies, I heard it from friends' stories, but still I wonder if the idea of a true 'hopeless romantic' guy do exist in the real world.
Sometimes, I feel that many people have this definition of a hopeless romantic all wrong. Or maybe, I am the one who interprets it wrongly. So I did a quick search today in Google to verify what I knew and this is the most sensible answer I could find:
Hopeless romantics believe in true love and fairy tales. They dream of roses and candlelight, walking on the beach at sunset and dancing in the rain. They are idealists, the sentimental dreamers, the imaginative and the fanciful. They give the world its once-upon-a-times and happily-ever-afters.I tend to think that being hopeless romantic is somehow really deep. The reason being is that I couldn't explain it no matter what. To me the word just doesn't equate to any 10th level of any sweet acts - and so - I don't believe that they do exist. Yet, something changed along the way..
8th of June 2012. After our island hopping and amazing marine life encounters, Teng and I decided to just bum in the beach. We had fun, we fool around, we went crazy, we enjoyed the pristine white sand and of course the beautiful sunset.
The view that we have across is a tiny island called Dream Islet. Nothing was unusual when I look at it that time. My vision is at 275-300 and I am not wearing any contact lens so I could not see that something is being prepared for us. Or rather, I should say, something is being prepared to surprise me.
After watching the sunset, we prepared ourselves for dinner. The package we have already includes a dinner buffet so I am not sure what menu to expect. That time, I asked Teng what he wants to have. I said I am craving for some prawns and steak - he said likewise. Then he grinned.
When we're about to reach the restaurant - which is located on a cliff - he said "Wait, we're not going there". So I was clueless, my tummy is already aching. I am not in the mood for some crazy jokes as Teng always do. He was laughing while we're heading to the beach. I am beginning to get irritated. Then I saw the light coming from the Dream Islet - the vision is clear this time. A dinner table was there waiting for us. There in the islet were 4 singers/guitarists serenading. Servants were waiting too. I was shocked and to my disbelief - I uttered - "Is that for us?" Teng just answered a smile and said, "Tonight, that islet is ours".

We dine under the moon and stars in our own spot of sand in the middle of that Dream Islet. Marine life within arm's reach. It was just the two of us - well of course, there are the singers/servants but they did not bother us that time.
Then our food came. It was prawns and steak! This guy really know what I want, I told myself. Without knowing, a tear fell from my eye. I am just so happy that I couldn't contain it. He began asking why I am crying, I said I am just happy. I kissed him and said thank you. ♥ :)
The evening turned out to be a bit breezier than we would have liked after our 5-course dinner. We knew it will rain, we still wanted to stay a bit but we knew we have to leave so that rain will not catch us. Before we leave, we asked for a picture with the guys who made the night extra special. Then off we go to spa which Teng booked a whole body massage for us.
Making love last a lifetime is worth the little bit of effort, creativity and ingenuity it takes to thrill your beloved with some surprises. Those surprises, tiny or big, simple or complex, perfectly planned or just spur of the moment can add excitement and spice up the romance in each relationship. And on that night I knew I am super special.
